Cheesy Vegetable Momos


Ingredients

For filling
Shredded cabbage- 2 cups
Onion chopped- 1
Carrot diced- 1/2 cup
Pepper powder-1/4tsp or to taste
Salt to taste
Cheese spread -20 tsp

For dough
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp  baking powder
Salt-to taste
water

Preparation

  • Make stiff dough by mixing flour, baking powder, salt and water. Set aside for 30 minutes.
  • Heat pan add oil, chopped onion cook till translucent, add chopped carrot saute for 3 minutes
  • Add cabbage salt and pepper powder and saute for 5 minutes.
  • Roll the dough into small circular discs or use cutter to make your job easy. The discs should be some what thin but not too thin that you can see through it.
  • Place a spoon full of filling and 1/2 tsp of cheese spread ( alternatively you can use scrambled paneer or tofu) in the center of each disc. Bring the sides together in the center, pinching firmly together to form a dumpling.
  • Bring the water to boil in a steamer, smear the steamer surface with oil, place the prepared momos and steam them for 10 minutes. Serve them hot with any sauce of your choice( soy , schezwan  or tomato garlic sauce)


Note: You could add bell pepper, green onions, coriander leaves to the above filling.
