Low Calorie Masala puri Chaat







Ingredients

Cooked dry peas- 3 cups ( soak the dry peas overnight and cook them in pressure cooker)
Green chilies-4
Coriander leaves-1/2 cup
Cinnamon-1 inch
Ginger- 1/2 inch
Mace (javitri)- 1
Clove-4
Coriander powder-1/4th tsp
Cumin powder 1/4th tsp
Turmeric- 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Baked potato chips - 12-15(per serving)
Chopped tomatoes- 2
Chopped onion-2
Sweet chutney- As per taste
Sev- 2tbsp ( per serving)
oil - 2tbsp
Water

Preparation

To make peas masala


  • Take a pan,heat oil ,add tumeric powder add 2 3/4th cup of cooked peas and bring to boil. 
  • Grind 1/4th cup cooked peas, coriander leaves, green chili, ginger, cinnamon, clove and mace to a smooth paste
  • Add the ground paste to the boiling peas, add salt and cook for 5 minutes under low flame keep stirring in between. The masala should not be too thick or too thin.Adjust the consistency by adding water.


To make masala puri

  • Take a plate and arrange baked chips above that. Pour  2 ladel full of hot peas masala
  • Above this garnish with chopped tomatoes, onion and sev. If required add sweet chutney and serve.Tastes good when served hot.
Note: to make regular masala puri  use puri/puchka in place of baked chips.
