Veggie burger







Ingredients

Potato large- 4 boiled , peeled and grated
Mixed vegetables(carrot, beans and peas)- 1 cup boiled and mashed( squeeze  out the water from the vegetables)
Oil- to fry
Cumin seeds- 1 tsp
Chili powder-1 tsp
Coriander powder-1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
Salt- to taste
Tomato Slice- few
Lettuce-few
Onion sliced- few
Burger buns-5
Bread crumbs-2 cups
All purpose flour/Maida- 1/2 cup
Water- 3/4th cup water
Tomato sauce

Preparation

  • Heat 1 tbsp oil add cumin seeds allow it to splutter. Simmer the flame and add chili, coriander and turmeric powder. 
  • Add the grated potatoes, salt and mashed vegetables and mix well. 
  • Mix flour with water to make smooth batter.
  • Take a small amount of the potato mixture and shape it into circular discs. Dip this in the flour batter and roll the patty in bread crumbs. 
  • Heat oil in a pan.  Once the oil is hot fry the patty on a medium flame until they are golden brown on both sides. ( note: Add some amount of bread crumbs to the potato mixture if the patty is breaking down while frying)
  • Cut the burger bun into 2 equal halves. Take the lower part of the bun place  lettuce, tomato and onion. Above this place the patty and finally place another half of the bun and serve with tomato sauce or Mayonnaise. Optionally you can also keep cheese slice above the patty.
