Garlic and Herb Rolls!

Here is my first recipe!

Ingredients:
2 cup all purpose flour
1 cup water
1 tsp active dry yeast
2 tsp sugar
2 tbsp olive oil

 Filling:
2 tbsp softened butter or oil
7-8 garlic cloves, finely chopped
2 green chilies, finely chopped
2 tbsp finely chopped coriander
2 tsp mixed Italian herbs or Oregano
1 tsp red chili flakes

Preparation:
·          Warm up milk (Luke warm).Dissolve in the sugar and yeast in it and mix thoroughly. Leave it aside until the mixture becomes frothy.
·         Add oil and salt to the above mixture. Slowly pour this into the 2 cups flour and mix until you get smooth dough.
·         Take the above dough and knead for 10 mins, if dough turns out sticky you can add extra flour and grease your hands with oil and knead.
·         Place the above dough in the greased bowl; also smear little oil on the dough so that it won’t dry out. Cover this with clean cloth and allow it rise (dough should double in its volume). Keep the dough in warm place. Depending on the climatic conditions the time required for the dough to rise may range from 1-1.30 hours.
·         Once the dough has doubled, grease your hand and knead dough for another 5-10 mins.
·         You can either use the entire dough and roll them using rolling pin or use half of the dough.  The entire dough make around 8-9 garlic buns.
·         Roll the dough (into rectangle or square shape) spread the filling mixture evenly and roll the dough starting at the left-hand corner of the edge closest to you. Working from left to right, tug the lip of the dough up and over the filling, keeping it tight. Roll up the dough, tightening the log as you go.
·         Cut the log into even sized pieces using knife.
·         Place the cut rolls on a greased or parchment-lined pan, brush the top of the rolls with milk and sprinkle with remaining filling mixture. Keep these in the warm place for 45 mins to an hour for the final rise.
·         The rolls can also be covered with plastic wrap and placed in the refrigerator. The next morning, let the rolls rise at room temperature until doubled, then bake as directed
·         Now to bake, preheat the oven at 220 Degree, bake them at 180 degrees for 20-25 mins. The top of the rolls must turn slight brown in color. You can increase baking time if they are not cooked completely.
·         Once out of oven brush the rolls with butter, this will make the crust softer. Allow it to cool for few mins and its ready to be served! :-)

If you are trying this out let me know how it comes out!

Happy Baking.
