Channa samosa chaat |
Ingredients
For channa masala
1.5 cups boiled channa (garbanzo beans)
Cumin seeds- 1tbs
Pureed tomatoes- 1.5 cups
Ground onion-1/4th cup
Channa masala powder- 1tbs
Garam masala- 1tbs
Salt-as per taste
Chili powder-1/4th tsp
Chopped coriander leaves -1 tbs
Oil- 2tbs
For chaat
Samosa -1
Channa masala - 1 cup
Mint chutney -2 tbs
Plain yogurt- 4 tbs
Chili sauce- 1 tbs
Tomato sauce- 1 tbs
Chopped onions- 1/4th cup
Sev- 2 tbs
Coriander leaves chopped-1 tbs
Preparation
Channa Masala
- Heat the oil in the pan, add cumin seeds and fry for few seconds. Then add the chopped onions and fry until they are lightly browned.
- Later on add tomato puree, channa masala powder, chili powder, garam masala powder and salt. cook these for about 5-10 mins under medium heat until the oil starts to separate from the onion/tomato mixture.
- Add the boiled channa. Stir it all up, if required you can add half cup of water depending on the consistency you like.Bring to a fierce boil and then turn the flame down to simmer the pot for a while - with the lid partially on.
- After about a further 15 mins of simmering - add some freshly chopped coriander leaf and stir it all in.
Samosa Chaat
Take a plate mash the samosa, above that pour the prepared channa masala.
Add mint chutney ( mixed with yogurt), tomato sauce, chili sauce, chopped onion, sev and coriander leaves.
