Boiled Garbanzo beans-1.5 cups
Peas- 1 cup
Rice- 1.5 cups
Water- 3.5
Plan Yogurt- 2tbsp
Cinnamon- 1 stick
Clove- 3
Cardamom -2
Bay leaf -1
Salt -to taste
Lemon juice- 1tbspOil- 4 tbsp
Ghee/ Clarified butter- 2tbsp
Turmeric-1/2 tsp
One big onion Chopped
2 medium tomatoes chopped
To grind
Mint leaves- 2 small bunch
Coriander leaves one handful
Green chilies- 3
Ginger -1/2 inch
Garlic cloves -6
Preparation
- Grind masala Ingredients into a fine paste.
- Wash and soak rice set aside for 15 minutes.
- Heat the pressure cooker, add oil, ghee, turmeric, cinnamon, cardamon and bay leaf fry until you get nice aroma from the spices.
- Add onion cook until onion turns golden brown, add tomato and cook until tomato becomes soft, add peas and garbanzo beans and stir well.
- Add ground masala paste yogurt fry for couple of minutes.
- Finally add soaked rice, water ,lemon juice and salt
- Pressure cook till 3 whistles. Serve hot with raita.
